30x21cm, paper, acrylic

Unique

In the works of recent years, Ilze Lībiete creates and observes a gesture, but the description of expressive movement would be a one-sided treatment of these works. The minimum of the story is contained in the gesture and the name. The artist is looking for the most concise expression of her feelings. On the other hand, the image of the shadow contains all the meanings of the opposites that nature and culture offer compared to light, brightness and the so-called masculine power. They are black acrylic drawings on paper with a wide brush.

Ilze Lībiete (1951) graduated from the J. Rozentāls Riga Art High School (1969) and the Graphic Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts (1976). Works on book graphics and designs emblems.
